Low-Dispersive FDFD Method for Large-Scale 3-D Scattering Problem

In this article, a new finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method with low numerical dispersive characteristic is proposed. The proposed method introduces an isotropic dispersion (ID) difference scheme into traditional FDFD equations to eliminate numerical dispersion errors. To suit difference equations in the frequency domain, the form of scaling factor and weight factor is reformed. The results of numerical experiments show that the proposed method can obtain more accurate result with larger Yee grids, which reduces the memory requirements of the FDFD approach, thereby enhancing its efficiency in solving large-scale 3-D scattering problems.
