Pictoal Illusion: Humorous Illusion Using Human-Shaped Pictograms

Visual illusions come in various forms, including geometric illusions, color illusions, and brightness illusions. This study explores the potential of geometric illusions that, while maintaining the phenomena causing illusions, utilize shapes more likely to capture viewers' interest. We focus on “Pictoal illusion,” a novel category incorporating human-shaped pictograms. This paper presents seven newly created Pictoal illusions and evaluates their effectiveness in eliciting laughter and understanding visual illusions compared to traditional geometric illusions.
