A review of order-ratio-based fault feature extraction techniques for planetary gearboxes

The vibration signals of planetary gearboxes are non-smooth, presenting challenges for signal processing methods that have made significant progress in analyzing smooth vibration signals. However, methods based on order-ratio analysis excel in processing non-smooth vibration signals. This paper evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of signal processing methods based on order-ratio analysis. Firstly, the basic principles of order-ratio analysis and its current development trends are summarized. Secondly, the paper reviews the advancements of order-ratio analysis methods in vibration signal analysis. Finally, the study discusses future developments and challenges in the field of fault diagnosis for planetary gearboxes.
