Performance comparison of PSK and QAM: modulation and demodulation techniques

As a matter of fact, digital modulation techniques such as Phase Shift Keying (PSK) and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) are very important for modern communication systems and are widely used due to their high bandwidth utilisation and noise immunity. On this basis, the performance of PSK and QAM at different modulation orders is compared in detail with emphasis on their Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and modulation and demodulation techniques in AWGN channels in this study. According to the analysis, it is observed through simulations that higher data rates are provide by higher order QAM modulation schemes but require higher SNR to maintain performance, while PSK demonstrates better performance under low SNR conditions. This research also discusses the trade-offs of these modulation schemes in various communication environments. The findings of this study offer important insights for choosing and optimizing modulation techniques, contributing to the development of more efficient and reliable communication systems.
