The preference for implementation of QPSK in 5G based on comparison with BPSK and 8-PSK

During the recently concluded Olympics, China employed 4K/8K high-definition broadcasting technology powered by 5G networks to provide a seamless and high-quality viewing experience. One of the key benefits of 5G technology is its high data transmission rate and low latency, which are essential for delivering high-definition video. This study is going to conduct a comprehensive simulation of the QPSK modulation scheme used in 5G technology to collect data and evaluate its performance characteristics and additionally perform detailed simulations and analyses of BPSK and 8-PSK modulation schemes to facilitate a thorough comparison with QPSK. Compared to 8-PSK, which has more complex phase detection and processing circuitry, QPSK is easier to demodulate and encode, making it easier to construct and usage. Despite being easy to use, BPSK has a very low data transfer rate, which makes it less appropriate for applications that require high data rates. 8-PSK has a higher demodulation complexity since it needs more phase states to be identified with accuracy. Better hardware and algorithms are needed for it. QPSK is therefore more suited for scenarios requiring a high degree of reliability. For the significance, different modulation methods can cater to various needs, from high-bandwidth video streaming to low-power devices, facilitating broad technology adoption.
