Design and implementation of direct-drive axial flux permanent magnet motor for aviation propeller

The axial flux permanent magnet machine ( AFPMM ) is designed for the direct drive application scenario of aviation propeller. The electromagnetic parameters are calculated by three-dimensional finite element ( 3D-FEA ) simulation, and the structure and heat dissipation of the motor are designed. A design method of double-stator single-rotor AFPMM is presented. According to the design, the prototype is processed, the test bench with propeller as load is built, and the torque coefficient of the mot or is measured.
