Reliability analysis of microgrid

Energy storage is an effective measure to enhance the integration of high proportions of distributed renewable energy sources. Smart switches can quickly actuate during faults to reduce outage durations, while Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations incorporating Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) strategies serve as flexible dispatch resources. All three are integral components for the development of smart grids. This paper first models intelligent distribution networks incorporating Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Subsequently, it provides a detailed overview of the reliability assessment process for smart distribution networks. Finally, utilizing the RELSAD simulation platform, the paper conducts reliability assessment analysis on distribution networks considering distributed renewable energy sources, energy storage, electric vehicles, and smart switches. The study analyzes the impact of various components in smart distribution networks on system reliability. Additionally, it evaluates the effects of microgrids and fault isolation and supply restoration on the reliability of smart distribution systems.
