Investigation of the Application Software Interface for IoT

Arduino boards have evolved into one of the leading Internet of Things controllers in many electronic applications. The software used for interfacing and programming Arduino has been developed to match the hardware capabilities. This paper explores different software that can be used with Arduino for IoT applications. This analysis aims to investigate different Arduino software interfaces in the field and help make an informed choice when selecting the software suitable for an Arduino application for designing a generator fuel level monitoring and management system for a remote Site. The quality attributes for software selection factors are provided to assist in selecting software based on the application requirements. The evaluation and selection method for suitable IoT software in this work is based on a multi-criteria decision-making matrix approach adapted from a comparison table.
