Monitoring the Misti Volcano in Arequipa, Peru Using Space Geodesy Techniques

This study reviews the monitoring of the Misti volcano in Arequipa, Peru, using space geodesy techniques, particularly GNSS, to detect surface deformations. By employing GNSS receivers and the GAMIT/GLOBK software suite, the research aims for millimeter-level accuracy in measuring surface movements. Data collected from March 11th to May 31st, 2022, was processed to identify deformations, accounting for local tectonic influences. Although no significant volcanic deformation was detected during the study period, the established methodologies and infrastructure provide a robust framework for ongoing and future monitoring efforts.
