Parametric Analysis Applied to Electrical Studies Using Electromagnetic Transients Programs

This article aims to introduce the reader to the relevance of parametric analysis in electrical studies using Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP) by bringing together some published studies using the Parametric Modeling Suite (PAMSUITE) module of the EMTP-RV software and present an example of a case prepared using a set of other computational tools, including the ATP package. When comparing the traditional approach with parametric analysis, note that the results produced by parametric analysis are much more detailed, with which it is possible to make better informed and more economically viable decisions about the system, such as mitigating losses, failures, and equipment protection, for example.
