Control of a Telescope Mount for Astronomical Observations and LEO Satellite Tracking

This paper presents the development and simulation of a 2-DOF spherical telescope for astronomical observations and LEO satellite tracking, modeled using the EulerLagrange methodology. An adaptive PID controller, optimized with genetic algorithms, ensures robust control. The simulations demonstrate that the telescope’s response converges asymptotically without control input chattering, effectively handling the dynamics of the system.
