DASH: An Open Access Low-Cost Quadruped Robot for Innovative Applications

DASH (Dedicated Autonomous Service Helper) is a versatile quadruped robot designed for diverse applications. DASH integrates advanced human-robot interaction, autonomous navigation, and environmental awareness capabilities. In this paper, we propose the hardware, software, and kinematic framework that enable DASH's dynamic performance and adaptability. The proposed system is an open-access, low-cost platform, allowing for extensive customization and adaptation to applications such as exploration, medical assistance, or service robotics. The primary objective of the proposed system is to assist visually impaired individuals by incorporating user-friendly control options including mobile applications, gesture-based commands, and voice control. By leveraging a modular design and cuttingedge features, DASH offers a flexible solution for various autonomous tasks, demonstrating significant advancements in robot functionality and human-robot interaction.
