An Effective Parallel-Plate MEMS Capacitor Design for Energy HarvestingApplications

This study presents an innovative micro electrostatic energy harvester system capable of harvesting energy from ultrasonic waves. This unique design, utilizing parallel plate capacitors, aims to meet the increasing demand for self-sustaining energy systems in areas such as wearable technology and biomedical electronics.Unlike conventional energy harvesters, our system significantly increases energy conversion efficiency by leveraging an optimized parallel plate capacitor configuration. This approach enables us to achieve high performance in microelectronic and MEMS systems, particularly in the mentioned application areas, by minimizing energy loss. Our system demonstrates a notable increase in efficiency, especially in low-frequency and low-amplitude energy sources. This feature enables effective energy harvesting even from low-energy sources such as body movements. This technology not only contributes to the development of more reliable and autonomously operating devices but also opens new horizons for sustainable energy solutions in ultrasonic wave-based technologies. Our research takes an important step in the fields of energy efficiency and sustainability by paving the way for future self-sustaining electronic devices.
