Microscale Electromagnetic Tracking Using a Second-Generation Quantum Sensor

This study demonstrates the application of second-generation quantum sensors in one-dimensional tracking. Due to their compact size, these magnetic field-sensitive sensors are particularly advantageous for medical and industrial settings where conventional sensors may be too large or vulnerable to electromagnetic interference. The proposed sensor setup achieves an average resolution of 1.22 mV/mm for tracking within a 100 mm range. The study also explores the nature and impact of various noise sources and discusses potential future techniques for mitigating these interferences.
