Active Performance Verification of 28 GHz 5G Beam-forimg Antenna Module using CATR Chamber

As mobile communication technologies such as 5G and 5G-Advanced continue to evolve, the development of millimeter-wave band beamforming antennas is progressing rapidly, accelerating their application in commercial use. For millimeter-wave band beamforming antennas, it is essential to have modules that integrate the antenna and beamformer directly. New parameters such as TRP, EIRP, EVM, and Beam Scan Range are required to verify the beamforming capabilities. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for verifying the performance of beamforming antenna modules using existing CATR chambers and validates it using a 28 GHz band 5G antenna module.
