Traveling Wave Array Design of Comb-Line Antenna Using Thick Elements in 270-GHz Band

This paper presents the design of a traveling wave comb-line antenna to obtain a large coupling power of 60% with a reduced side lobe level. A 10-element linear comb-line antenna composed of bottleneck-shaped radiating elements and rectangular elements is designed and analysed at 274 GHz. This combination of elements in the traveling wave array resulted in achieving a sidelobe level of –16 dB and a gain of 11.4 dBi.
