Dual-Band Printed Coded Metasurface for Split Beam Generation in Arbitrary Direction

This paper presents a dual-band metal-dielectric printed coded metasurface operating at fL=20 GHz and fH = 30 GHz for pattern reconfiguration and splitting of incoming electromagnetic waves. The designed surface consists of three layers of swastika and cross slots printed on dielectric layers separated by air gaps to resonate at dual frequency bands. Such a dual-band surface can be utilized to generate or split an incoming wave into multiple beams, which is crucial for applications in MIMO systems. The simulated radiation patterns demonstrate dual-band beam splitting consistent with analytical calculations using the metasurface.
