Planar Sparse Arrays Using Triangular Lattice Transformations

This paper presents the step by step design of a planar sparse arrays that uses triangular lattice transformation method. The triangular transformation allows us to go from a linear sparse array to a sparse triangular lattice sparse array. Moreover, the array is also windowed to generate a circular aperture, which effect is also considered. Finally, the proposed final array has around 4 dB Side Lobe Level (SLL) improvement compared with the linear sparse array.
