Estimation Formula of Line-of-Sight Probability Considering Road Length for an Urban Environment

This paper discusses an estimation formula of line-of-sight (LOS) probability considering LOS road length for an urban environment. We developed an LOS estimation formula that adapts to changes of the LOS road length. As an urban environment model that probabilistically restricts sight-length, we proposed a restricted road-length model and clarify the effect of the LOS restriction on the LOS probability. On the basis of the results, the estimation formula of LOS probability for a uniform-grid-pattern city constructed in a previous study was modified to develop a new estimation formula suitable for an actual urban environment, taking into account the effect of the LOS restriction. As a result, we obtained an LOS probability estimation formula that is adaptable to changes of the LOS road length.
