Overview of Neutral Beam Injection Ion Source Power Supply System Using Filament Ion Soruce

The neutral beam injection (NBI) power supply system is is crucial for the NBI system's operation, with all its components working together to ensure proper function. The NBI ion source power supply system is vital for generating and extracting ion beams, making it a key element of the NBI power system. In this paper, the NBI ion source power supply system using filament ion source will be investigated. Depending on the load, NBI ion source power supply system is divided into plasma generator power supply (filament power supply and arc power supply), ion optical system power supply (acceleration grid power supply, gradient grid divider and suppressor grid power supply) and transmission line system (transmission line, snubber and snubber bias power supply). This paper describes in detail the role, structure, characteristic, load requirement and typical application of each power supply.
