Development of a high total efficiency beam-forming antenna with a flat-top beam in radiative-near-field wireless power transfer

This study describes a novel beam flat-top forming method using a low-cost phased array developed for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer at 28GHz to maintain high total efficiency, including beam and rectifying efficiencies, at a rectenna array. We achieve a reduction in the number of antenna elements in the phased array and a flat-top beam suitable for wireless power transfer in a radiative-near field.
