Wide-Band Dual-Polarized BTS Antenna Using Crossed-Dipole with Parasitic Elements

This study introduces a novel design of dual-polarized antennas for BTS applications. It features four identical parasitic-elements placed above the crossed-dipole arms, which enhances the antenna’s impedance performance. This design reaches an operational bandwidth of 1.481-2.717 GHz for port-1 and 1.495-2.773 GHz for port-2. The interaction between the dipole arms and the parasitic-elements ensures proper impedance matching within the frequency range of BTS systems working in the $1.7-2.7 \mathrm{GHz}$ spectrum. Experimental results indicate that the proposed design achieves a peak gain of 8.36 dBi at 2.50 GHz. Furthermore, the half power beam width (HPBW) of the antenna measures 97.14° in the elevation plane and 65.02° in the azimuth plane.
