A C-Band Low Sidelobe Microstrip Patch Antenna Array for Sum and Difference Beams' Application

In this paper, a microstrip patch antenna array for sum and difference beams' application operating from 5.8GHz to 6GHz with low side lobes and good directivity is proposed. The VSWR(voltage standing wave ratio) of the antenna unit in the working frequency band is less than 2. An 8×8 microstrip patch antenna array is formed on the basis of the antenna unit. The VSWR of the antenna array in the working frequency band is less than 1.4 and the gain is 21.6dB at 5.9GHz. By arranging subarrays symmetrically and adding a feed network between the units, the side lobe level of the antenna array exceeds 18dB.
