Adjustable Axial Ratio Circular Polarization Decoupling Suspended Surface

This paper proposes an adjustable axial ratio(AR) circularly polarized (CP) decoupling suspended surface(DSS). While the DSS introduces a new coupling path, its rotatability provides additional degrees of freedom compared to the array antenna decoupling surface (ADS) to adjust the coupling path. This work has achieved both homo-polarization and heteropolarization hybrid decoupling for a Ka-band dual CP antenna array, with an element center-to-center spacing of $0.365\lambda$. Furthermore, the adjustable AR of the DSS is advantageous for applications in large-scale array scanning and fixed beam scanning satellite communication.
