The Influence of Jungle Background on the Dispersal Pattern of Fuze Explosion Points

To address the poor adaptability of guided suppression fuzes in jungle backgrounds and enhance radio fuzes' target detection, identification, and anti-jamming capabilities, a study was conducted on the impact of jungle background on fuze burst point control accuracy. Based on the measured data of the backward scattering characteristics of the jungle collected by the fuze, the distribution characteristics of fuze burst points under different wavebands and pitch angles in the jungle background were obtained. The study analyzed the effects of the jungle environment on the fuze's distance-setting accuracy. The findings indicate a strong correlation between the distribution of burst points and the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the jungle. The dispersion of burst points follows a Gaussian distribution. At a test distance of 30 m, with fuze wavebands in the K, Ka, and V bands and HH polarization, and pitch angles between 30° and 60°, the impact of the jungle background on burst point deviation is within the range of $\pm \mathbf{5} \mathbf{m}$. The distance distribution of the fuze is 33.5-34.5 m on asphalt surfaces, while it significantly increases to 32–41 m in jungle backgrounds, with a dispersion increase rate of 77%.
