Characteristics of Ionospheric Variations in Guangzhou During the 24th Solar Activity Cycle

The ionosphere, as an important part of the solar-terrestrial space environment, has far-reaching significance for the design, development, production, testing and operation of radio information systems. The 24th solar activity cycle is a relatively weak activity cycle in history, and the change characteristics of the equatorial anomaly region of the ionosphere are also different from those in the past due to its influence. In this paper, the changing characteristics of the ionospheric foF2 in the hump zone solar activity week are analyzed in detail, taking the Guangzhou area as an example. The following conclusions were drawn: The number of strong ionospheric disturbances is the lowest in 2013, and the number of strong disturbances is the highest in 2009; the correlation between the fluctuation of foF2 and F10.7 from 09:00 to 20:00 LT is low; the probability of the occurrence of the spread F in the high solar activity year is low, which is less than half of that in the low solar activity year.
