A Wideband Dual-Polarized Quad-Ridged Horn Antenna with Stable Beam-Width

Reflector antennas face practical requirements such as wider working bandwidth and multi-polarization. When the traditional ridged horn is used as the feeder, the beam-width of the ridged horn is sharply narrowed with the working frequency increase, which leads to a decrease in the reflector system's gain. To solve this problem, a broadband quad-ridged horn antenna with a stable beam-width is designed in this paper. By optimizing the profile of the ridge curve and horn shell curve simultaneously, the designed horn achieves a basically unchanged -10 dB beam-width in the 2~6 GHz with dual-polarization.
