FEPPCON XII: Empowering Sustainable Power Electronics

The IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) organized in September 2024 its 12th biennial Future of Electronic Power Processing and Conversion (FEPPCON) workshop looking into the future of the power electronics technology. The overarching theme was sustainability what can be done better in order to move this agenda more forward. This article gives an overview of the different sessions (e.g., in topics like Recyclability, Power Electronics Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Data-centers, Transportation Electrification, Large scale power electronics, the future power grid, disruptive technologies, work force development) as well as the workshop conclusions including recommendations for PELS.
