The Heating Controlling for a Multi-Storey Residential Building with Prediction of Temperature Trend

This paper provides an overview of methods for heat consumption regulating in multi-storey residential buildings with an emphasis on the model predictive control of heating systems supporting the weather forecasting. The advantages and disadvantages of existing control methods are given. The necessity and effectiveness of weather-dependent regulation is compared with the existing approach on the example of a real building. It is showing the average daily value of the outdoor air temperature is insufficient to saving the thermal energy, as well as for ensuring the life comfort. Gaps in regulator design have been identified, and directions for the future studies have been proposed.
