Grid-connected 300 kW PV system with Improved Maximum PowerPoint Tracking

An analysis of the design and implementation of a 300 kW PV system that is linked to the grid and uses the MPPT algorithm developed by Perturb and Observe (P&O). The MPPT algorithm is an essential component of PV systems. Its primary function is to ensure effective operation by continuously modifying the operating point of the PV modules. This allows the modules to collect the highest amount of electricity possible from the varying solar irradiation circumstances. In this study, the P&O technique is used since it is simple and effective at tracking the maximum power point (MPP) and it doesn't require a lot of computer resources. In order to test how well the proposed PV system works in various environments, it is modeled and simulated using MATLAB software tools. In order to maximize power extraction from PV modules while ensuring a steady grid connection, the simulation results show that the P&O MPPT algorithm is effective. The study also delves into how system characteristics like temperature and irradiance level affect the efficiency and performance of the MPPT. The results give light on how to optimize and construct large-scale PV systems that are connected to the grid and use MPPT algorithms to increase energy yield while integrating with the grid.
