Nutrition Monitoring based on Food Image Classification Using Transfer Learning

Image classification, which teaches computers to understand and categorize visual input, is a crucial challenge in computer vision technology. Applications for this job are numerous and include autonomous vehicle navigation, medical image analysis, and object recognition in photos. These labels can represent various objects, scenes, or patterns present in the images. We have selected the topic of image classification of Indian food items and hence display their calorie values after assessing all the major classification techniques. In the recent past, most middle and upper class people in India are at that stage where they are becoming health conscious and hence this application will be very useful for the health enthusiasts as they will get the idea of how much calories they are consuming while having food (especially junk food). The rich and diverse culinary landscape of Indian cuisine presents a unique challenge for automated image classification systems. This paper explores the application of deep learning techniques to accurately classify Indian food items based on visual features extracted from images.
