Fractional Discrete Cosine Transform and Chaotic Based Encryption for Medical Image Security

The reliability of medical images is paramount for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. However, medical images are susceptible to manipulation, raising concerns about their authenticity and integrity. This paper proposes a novel encryption system to verify the reliability of medical images using Fractional Discrete Cosine Transform and chaotic functions. The proposed system encrypts medical images using FrDCT to transform the image into the frequency domain. Subsequently, a chaotic function is employed to scramble the transformed coefficients, enhancing the security of the encryption process. The chaotic function like logistic maps introduces more randomness into the encrypted image, making it resistant to various attacks. The proposed system offers several advantages, including high encryption strength, robustness against noise, and the ability to perform decryption and reliability verification without the original image.
