Self-Efficacy and Organizational Citizenship Behaviors: A Decision Model Perspective for HR Management in Engineering Organizations

The aim of this research is to identify the impact of self-efficacy on the organizational citizenship behaviors (conscientiousness, sportsmanship, civilized behavior, courtesy and altruism) at Gulf Aluminum Rolling Company, Kingdom of Bahrain. Two hundred and ninety-two employees of the company in question were surveyed through a simple random sampling method. The analysis is based on the outcomes of the questionnaire survey that was given out to a representative sample of the employees. The researchers hypothesized that there is a significant impact for self efficacy on the organizational citizenship behaviors (conscientiousness, sportsmanship, civilized behavior, courtesy and altruism) Gulf Aluminum Rolling Company, Kingdom of Bahrain. The findings revealed that this hypothesis was accepted. Moreover, the results indicated that there were significant differences with the regard to the impact of self-efficacy on the organizational citizenship behaviors with its dimensions in question at the company in question due to the demographics (age, qualification, years of experience and position), while there were no differences due to the demographic (gender).
