An Isolated Three-Port LED Driver Combined with Visible Light Communication Modulation

An isolated three-port LED driver combined Flyback circuit with Two-input Buck circuit in photovoltaic power generation application is proposed in this paper. Based on the proposed isolated three-port LED driver, a Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) strategy is designed for visible light communication by integrating electrical energy transformation. The combined control strategy is based on the QAM modulation technique, which outputs the the constant DC current for lighting and desired AC component in LED output current by adjusting the parameters of the amplitude, phase, and frequency at the same time or respectively, controlling the data modulation required for VLC communication. The operating principle, operating process and control principles of the proposed driver were analyzed in detail. Finally, computer simulation is carried out and an experimental prototype of the proposed driver with an input of $70-90\mathrm{V}_{\text{rms}}$ and an output of 0.72A/25W was developed. The simulation and experimental results have been obtained to show that the LED the lighting constant current and the data modulation required for VLC communication in different operating modes have been realized.
