A Novel Estimation Method for Multiple Micromotion Periods Based on Iterative CVD Filtering

The micromotion period of the space target is a significant feature for threat target recognition. When facing a scene with multiple targets, the narrowband radar has an obstacle to estimating periods of each target from coupling echoes, resulting in the estimation missing or misestimation. To address this, we propose a new method for filtering specific period components from coupling echoes using the cadence velocity diagram (CVD). Building on iterative CVD filtering, we develop an algorithm framework to estimate multiple periods through the correlation coefficients of the time-frequency distribution (TFD). The proposed algorithm is validated by dynamic simulations and anechoic chamber experiments.
