Arduino Nano Based Low-Cost Auto Shoelace Tightening Model

This work deals with the challenges involved with the fastening of shoes. It is very difficult for specially-abled, old people and kids to tighten their shoelaces. Poorly fitting shoes can result in causing various side effects and can lead to damage to your feet. This work focuses on building a model for shoelace tightening. Prior work on these technologies was mostly implementation-focused and did not take cost and renewability into account. We build a functioning and comprehensive” Auto Shoe lace tightening system” using various low-cost hardware components. The aim of this model is to provide a low-cost auto-shoelace tightening model. This model uses a servo motor coded using Arduino and connected to a mobile application using a Bluetooth module. Then for testing, this model is incorporated into the shoe, and performance of the proposed model is measured in terms of comfort and battery usage.
