Detection of Parking Space and Counter Using Computer Vision

The present research work introduces the efficient automatic parking slot occupancy detection system. A novel method is proposed derived from computer vision-based image processing techniques. The system employs live video footage from cameras to monitor parking lots in real-time and offers users easy access via a web browser or mobile application. The comparative study is carried out to analyze the performance based on various parameters such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The results remark that the proposed method offers superior accuracy and performance than the existing approaches. Therefore, the present approach may be adopted as the real-world application of urban parking systems.
