QCA Based Error Detection and Correction Circuit for Nano Communication Network Using Hamming Code

Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is an effective method used in nano communication coding circuits due to its extremely low energy consumption, great integration, and fast switching. The main objective of this paper is to design a Hamming Code circuit using QCA for Error detection and correction purposes. The Hamming Decoder at the receiver end has a Syndrome Calculator, 3:8 Decoder and an Error Corrector circuit. In this paper, a new reduced 3:8 decoder is designed with an optimization of 56% in cell count and 54% in area. A circuit for the (7,4) Hamming encoder is implemented based on the suggested structure with optimization of 50.5% by cell count and 75% by area. The overall Hamming code circuit architecture has been optimized by 15% in cell count and 8.11% by area. The QCADesigner has functionally validated the designs.
