The Mechanic and Application of Flexible Auxiliary Support under Assembly Pre-Tightening Process

In order to control the pre-tightening force accurately, the assembly pre-tightening process of a flexible auxiliary support structure was studied. At first, the deformation compatibility relationship in the assembly process was obtained. A mechanical model was established by analyzing and deducing the stress and deformation of compression ring in the assembly process, and the equivalent relationship based on respective stiffness characteristic curves was given, which can be applied to establish the rapid correction of pre-tightening force (RCPF) algorithm. The problem of uncertain assembly times caused by changing gasket thickness based on engineering experience was solved. The mode of assembly and revision was realized with the RCPF program. The “one assembly, one test” approach was employed to experimentally demonstrate the effectiveness of this algorithm.
