Ideal Tilt Angle Calculation of Photovoltaic Module to Enhance Sindh Power Generation

Traditional electricity production techniques are costly, environmentally harmful, and need careful upkeep, shortage, and blackout of energy, especially in summer. Making utilization of the abundant renewable solar energy sources that offer a clean, green energy supply. One of the least expensive ways to generate energy is through solar power generation, which may be utilized as an off-grid or grid-connected system. The proposed location for the photovoltaic system coordinates of the Sukkur railway station in Sindh, Pakistan are latitude 27.700686° N and longitude 68.866813° E. To solve this problem, the current study created an efficient, robust, and eco-friendly Grid Tie PV System (GTPVS). Sindh is one place where solar energy has a lot of potential. Using an optimized seasonal tilt angle of range 2°–15° in the summer to meet the excess load demand of air conditioners and other air cooling systems, and 45°–50° in the winter to enhance solar power generation, average annual horizontal sun irradiation received on collector plane of solar module for the proposed location is 1943 kWh/m2/year, whereas annual average diffuse sun irradiation received on collector plane is 887.4 kWh/m2/year. PR, photovoltaic conversion and other losses, including inverter conversion efficiency losses, temperature conversion, and PV module efficiency, are computed in this study using “PVSyst Software.” The simulation findings demonstrate that, by employing optimum seasonal tilt angles rather than annual fixed tilt angles, which reduce solar systems' power generation capacity, the suggested Roof-Top Solar System (RTSPVS) design energy production is 972614 MWh/year. The suggested method has an Annual Performance Ratio (PR) of 84%. The current study is useful in Sindh province to receive maximum solar irradiation on the collector plane and meet peak demand of load in the day time.
