Design of a PID controller based on frequency techniques for temperature regulation

This paper presents the design of a frequency-based PID controller for temperature regulation around an LM35 sensor from a fan. The objective is to develop a frequency-based PID controller using the Matlab and Matlab/Simulink platforms, and then, in conjunction with a lowcost Arduino microcontroller, validate its correct functionality. For this purpose, an algorithm was programmed to capture the temperature exerted by the fan at maximum power in the study area. Later, the system transfer function was obtained with this data using the Matlab “System Identification Toolbox” and, finally, the frequency-based PID controller was designed. As a result, a frequency-based PID controller was obtained that is capable of reacting quickly to disturbances and regulating the altered temperature around the LM35at room temperature.
