Ethanol and Renewable Diesel as Agile Solutions in Emerging Countries to Achieve NET Zero ASAP

The goal of this research is to show that there are agile solutions to reduce the effects of climate change, which has generated serious problems in worldwide. Solutions in developed and emerging countries are different; however, both have their share of contributions to mitigating problems related to the increase in the planet's temperature. What was committed to in the Paris Agreement has become an immediate need that must be addressed by all countries in the world. Such solutions involve abandoning fossil fuels and using renewable and sustainable energy sources. Electric vehicles tend to be the best solution in developed countries; however, in emerging countries, there will be a delay for the fleet to be replaced, mainly for economic reasons, even if there is a national political commitment. An economically viable possibility: There is an urgent need for action to achieve the overarching goal of NET Zero by 2050, with the aim of avoiding climate tragedies that are already damaging and could make it harder for life to continue on the planet. That can be adopted quickly is the use of biofuels in the transport sector. Among existing biofuels, ethanol and renewable diesel stand out as the best solutions for emerging countries, which should contribute considerably to mitigating global problems since then. The methodology adopted in this work is based on research into recent publications and news, organized into graphs to facilitate analysis and comparisons. In the short term, biodiesel should be replaced by renewable diesel around the world. Ethanol tends to be a global solution in the short and medium term, as besides being an agile solution for the transport sector, it can also be used to produce SAF and Hydrogen, which tends to take the lead in the supply of renewable energy in the future.
