OCDMA-Based LiDAR Systems: Reducing False Alarm Probabilities in Autonomous Driving

In this paper, based on the geometric model of mutual interference between LiDAR systems, and according to the Lambert surface radiation law of objects, the expression of the optical power of the reflected signal received by the jamming user is theoretically derived. The effects of interfering user distance and angle of incidence on system performance are analyzed. On this basis, the Optical Code Division Access(OCDMA) technology is used to improve the false alarm probability of the system, and the results show that the use of OCDMA technology can greatly improve the false alarm probability of the system under the condition that the performance of its own probability of detection is not greatly reduced. When the self detection distance and interference distance are both 50 m, the probability of detection remains above 98% after using OCDMA technology, while the false alarm probability decreases from 90% to 2% . Finally, OptiSystem and Matlab were used to simulate and verify the OCDMA LiDAR system, and the simulation values and theoretical values of the system's false alarm probability performance under different interference distances were compared.
