Implementation of the Stereophotogrametric Method for Measurement of Deformations in Engineering Structures and Constructions

The article presents a stereophotogramertric method of deformation measurement in heavy-duty machinery building and engineering constructions. The method is based on space measurements and observations, which provide high accuracy and precision in the deformation analyses in a three-dimentional space. A special focus is given on the applicability of the method with the usage of a easy-to-access equipment, such as digital cameras and personal computers, which makes it cost-effective and suitable for various engineering applications. The analyses of the results demonstrates, that the stereophotogrametry provides reliable measurements, as also allowes observation and evaluation of the defformations in real time. Despite some restrictions, mainly in connection with optic distortion and the immage quality, the method has been affirmed as a key tool in contemporary machine-building, with potential for further development and refinement.
