Control of a Simple High-Frequency Isolated Single-Phase AC-DC Converter

This paper proposes a new simple circuit structure and a control theory of high-frequency isolated single-phase AC-DC converter. In the proposed circuit, AC power source charges the capacitor by half-bridge circuit. Therefore, the number of switching elements can be decreased. Furthermore, total power factor of transformer can be improved by using the LC resonance, then the size of transformer can be smaller. The control theory of the proposed circuit is confirmed by experiments.
