Assessment on measuring and estimation of Ragone plots

A synthetic mode to appreciate the capabilities of the energy storage technologies is represented by the diagram called Ragone plot after the author name and first introduction in 1968. The Ragone plot depicts the relationship between the energy that can be delivered from an energy storage device (e.g. battery or capacitor) and the discharge power. Although widely used, there are not many details about how the plots were obtained. We present a principle laboratory method for determination of Ragone plots for different energy storage systems, as supercapacitors or batteries. The experimental results are compared with calculated data, showing a relative good match.
