Automatic Time-Domain Gating Algorithm in FreeSpace Measurement System

An automatic time-domain gating algorithm in freespace measurement system is proposed. Using a Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) technique, the temporal positions of the reflector plates on both sides of the sample are automatically detected. The start and end time points of the time-domain gate function are determined based on these positions. The proposed algorithm is subsequently implemented by applying the standard time-domain gating technique. The algorithm is validated using an in-house free-space measurement system. The proposed algorithm can be applied in measuring polarizer performance and dielectric constants.
