Calculation of Balance-Unbalance Conversion Factor and Leaked Electric Field in Power Line for PLC

In this paper, we calculated LCL (balance-unbalance conversion factor), common mode current and leaked electric field for a power line in high frequency with Method of Moments (MoM). To verify the validity of the calculation, we measured the model similar to the calculation, and compared with calculation results. As a result, the measurement and calculation values were approximated well in LCL, common mode current and leaked electric field. It was revealed that the calculation model in the MoM was effective to the analysis of the power line communication. And from the comparison of the calculation results, it was shown to have good correlation between LCL and leaked electric field. By computing the correlation from the calculation result, it is understood that there is relation of inverse proportion between LCL and common mode current, LCL and leaked electric field respectively.
