A Huygens Metasurface Unit Design Based on Rectangular Periods

In this paper, a broadband Huygens transmission unit based on rectangular cycles is proposed. This unit is based on a rectangular dielectric substrate, and two pairs of C-shaped rings and one pair of circular rings are printed on each side of the dielectric substrate, and the gaps between the rings provide more Huygens resonant modes for the unit. Simulation results show that the designed unit has a transmission coefficient of less than -2 dB in the 12.3-16.6 GHz range, and the -2 dB transmission bandwidth is about 29.7^%, and 360° phase coverage can be realized in this band, which provides a high-performance base unit structure for antenna designs such as high-gain lenses, beam focussing, and OAM.
