Wideband Decoupling of Co-Polarization Slot Antenna without Additional Component

A novel two-port co-polarization slot antenna with broadband self-decoupling characteristics is proposed. The reduction of broadband mutual coupling can be achieved by changing the slot width of the shared-radiator. The −10 dB operating bandwidth is expanded from 20.4% to 69.7%. The isolation is only 4 dB on coupling slot antenna but improved to better than 17 dB on decoupling slot antenna. This method provides a new design scheme for MIMO slot antennas.
